Associate Director, Early Portfolio Alliance Management & Operations

Johnson & Johnson seeks an Associate Director to oversee early-stage oncology alliances and external collaborations from discovery through early clinical phases. The role manages governance, cross-functional coordination, and operational execution between internal teams and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Oversee discovery-to-early-clinical partnership portfolio aligned with scientific objectives and corporate strategy
• Serve as primary operational liaison coordinating cross-functional working groups and research teams
• Plan and execute governance and scientific meetings; manage agendas, logistics, action tracking, and follow-up
• Support joint research and development plan development; monitor progress and recommend adjustments
• Identify program risks, resource gaps, and operational issues; lead mitigation planning with stakeholders

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years pharma/biotech experience, OR Master's/PhD with 6+ years experience
• Knowledge of drug development and early-stage R&D processes
• Alliance management or cross-functional project management in pharma/biotech
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills across scientific, clinical, legal, and finance teams
• Ability to manage multiple programs concurrently with excellent organizational skills
• Risk assessment and mitigation strategy development capability
• Scientific data interpretation and translation to operational actions
