Position Overview

A fast‑paced, top-rated downtown Milwaukee plaintiff‑side personal injury firm with a state-wide practice is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join our growing team. We represent clients across all areas of personal injury, including motor vehicle collisions, premises liability, medical malpractice, sexual abuse, and other complex civil matters. Our practice is built on advocacy, strategy, and client-centered communication.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

\n
• Strategic Planning — Evaluate liability, assess damages, and develop case strategy.
\n
• Lien Resolution — Handle ERISA, Medicare, Medicaid, and private lien issues.
\n
• Negotiation — Negotiate settlements with adjusters and defense counsel.
\n
• Legal Research — Conduct targeted legal and factual research.
\n
• Written Discovery — Draft and manage interrogatories, requests for production, and admissions.
\n
• Depositions — Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.
\n
• Motion Practice — Draft, file, and argue motions in Wisconsin circuit courts.
\n
• Brief & Pleading Drafting — Prepare persuasive briefs, pleadings, and substantive filings.
\n
• Court Appearances — Represent clients at hearings and other proceedings.
\n
• Trial Preparation / Participation — Participate in all aspects of trial, including witness and exhibit work.
\n
• Litigation Support — Coordinate experts, manage discovery, and support case development.
\n
• Occasional Travel — Rare statewide travel for hearings, depositions, or client meetings.
\n

Required Experience

\n
• Minimum 3-5 years civil litigation or personal injury experience (Plaintiff or Defense)
\n
• Familiarity with Wisconsin civil procedure and practice in Wisconsin circuit courts
\n
• Strong negotiation skills and comfort with complex medical and insurance issues
\n
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
\n
• Excellent writing, organization, and judgment
\n
• Experience and comfort with case management and Microsoft Office
\n
• Education: Doctorate (Required)
\n
