Gynecologic Oncology Surgeon

Department and Program Overview The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Stanford University School of Medicine seeks a fellowship‑trained Gynecologic Oncology Surgeon to join our expanding East Bay Cancer Care Program. The position will be based at the Stanford Medicine – Sutter Health Cancer Center in Oakland, CA, which functions as a central hub for comprehensive, multidisciplinary cancer care. The newly built Center features state‑of‑the‑art outpatient clinic space, ambulatory surgery center, infusion treatment area, and diagnostic radiology and radiation oncology facilities. Inpatient surgical care will be provided at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center and Stanford Health Care Tri‑Valley in Pleasanton, CA, with tertiary resources available at Stanford Hospital in Palo Alto, CA as needed. Responsibilities The successful candidate will establish a robust, subspecialized clinical program supported by an inpatient/outpatient Advanced Practice Providers team and 24‑hour hospitalist coverage. Emergency room coverage is not mandatory except for established or postoperative patients. The role includes participation in the education of fellows and residents, Stanford clinical research, and strong integration with the main Stanford campus through hybrid faculty meetings, grand rounds, tumor boards, and research and teaching conferences. Clinical and academic mentorship will be available through the broader Stanford Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and Stanford Cancer Center communities. Qualifications and Requirements The position will be at open rank (Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor) within the Clinician Educator Line at Stanford University. The major criterion for appointment is excellence in clinical care, teaching, administrative, and scholarly activities appropriate to the programmatic need. Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree and be board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
