Role Description This part-time/full-time, on-site Registered Dental Assistant role is based in Smyrna, TN. The Registered Dental Assistant will support pediatric dentists during clinical procedures, including preparing treatment rooms, setting up instruments, and assisting chairside for exams, cleanings, restorations, and other treatments. Daily responsibilities include taking radiographs as permitted, providing patient education on oral hygiene, updating charts, and ensuring accurate documentation in patient records. The role also involves sterilizing and organizing instruments, maintaining infection control protocols, and managing supplies and equipment. The Registered Dental Assistant will interact regularly with children and caregivers, helping to create a calm, friendly environment and explaining procedures in an age-appropriate, professional manner. Qualifications Clinical pediatric dental skills, including Dental Assisting and Dentistry, with a strong focus on working safely and effectively with children. Knowledge of Dental Care and Oral Care best practices, including patient education on brushing, flossing, and preventive treatments. Experience with sterilization and infection control protocols, including proper handling of instruments, equipment, and clinical areas. Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) credential in Tennessee, with any required state certifications (e.g., radiography, nitrous monitoring) preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support anxious children and collaborate with caregivers and team members. Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment. Previous experience in pediatric dentistry or a strong interest in working with children is highly beneficial. CPR/BLS certification and familiarity with basic dental software and electronic health records are preferred (Open Dental preferred, not required). #J-18808-Ljbffr
