Senior Systems Engineer

DescriptionSAIC is currently looking for a Systems/Project Engineer to support our Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) and Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) team located in Lakehurst, NJ.An active Secret clearance is required. General Overview:Coordinate, integrate and assist in the management of technical efforts being performed to ensure that identified needs are transformed into effective and life-cycle optimized systems.Ensure compatibility of all functional and physical interfaces (internal and external).Confirm that the system’s definition and design reflect the requirements for all systems elements (hardware, software, data, facilities, etc.).Ensure that engineering efforts follow the Systems Engineering process.Work in a multifaceted team with many stakeholders (engineering, logistics, manufacturing, contractor, program leadership) in problem solving efforts for designated aspects of complex problems with many competing objectives, variables, and constraints.Document solutions in relation to the technical, cost, and schedule constraints.Development and review of various technical documentation, including change management documentation, presentation materials, and white papers.Participate in, and assist in activities for various segments of program execution, which may include Risk Management, Configuration Management, Data Management, Trade-off Analysis/Trade Studies, Technical Performance Measures, Technical Reviews, and Modeling & Simulation.Communicate with stakeholders across program offices, fleet and industry stakeholders.QualificationsREQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Computer Science preferred)The Systems/Project Engineer shall have a minimum of 5 years of acquisition experience in the systems engineering field for requirements management/verificationSuccessful applicants will be familiar with the DoN Systems Engineering Process and the DoN Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) policy and process and have a minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the skill sets listed in preferred qualifications.
