Full time server. 3 - 4 days a week. Fine dining and/or high volume restaurant experience preferred. Please read the ENTIRETY of the listing before applying with your resume.

Servers are the primary presence for most interactions with our guests. While we are highly team-oriented and it requires all positions on the floor to keep the machine running smoothly, it is vital that each and every server (and bartender) own their section and take primary responsibility for their guests' experience. They are expected to have comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverages that we offer and use that knowledge to answer questions about the menu, portion sizes, ingredients, preparation, and allergy concerns. In general, servers (and bartenders) are responsible for curating a seamless dining experience for our guests. It is up to the server to communicate guest requests, allergies, and aversions to the kitchen in a clear manner and be prepared to communicate with the expeditor quickly and concisely if there is any confusion.

Server Responsibilities:

• Greet all guests within 2 minutes
• Offer guests tap or sparkling water
• Enter food and beverage orders into Square accurately
• Pour wine by the glass tableside
• Execute bottle service, top off bottle service, and communicate to guests when their bottle has been poured out
• Check in with the table either verbally or nonverbally throughout their meal
• Ring in order tickets properly and follow our SOPs, especially in regards to guest requests and allergy information
• Accept transfers from the host in a timely manner
• Communicate with your team about tables and when to clear, wipe, and offer dessert menus, using non-verbal cues as much as possible
• Know when to ask for help to full clear a table
• Maintain water levels for all guests
• Drop guest checks in a timely manner once they have received all items they have ordered
• Process payment in a timely manner
• Lead guests through their overall dining experience with us, anticipate any issues that might arise and troubleshoot problems by communicating information in a timely manner to the appropriate staff member
• Help reset tables in between turns
• Help seat guests when necessary
• Help with the stocking & rotation of mise-en-place throughout the dining room, especially in your assigned section
• Maintain shared service items and areas such as the water station
• Stay informed and help notify staff members of any 86s or low items
• Complete the all-in sheet in a timely manner once notified by MOD that it has been posted
• Thoroughly complete opening and closing sidework along with other members of the service team

Cheekie Server Responsibilities:

• Transition away from floor responsibilities as soon as possible at the completion of service
• Communicate with other servers regarding the transfer of tables remaining in your section
• Oversee designation of your tables to other servers, including updating the all-in sheet appropriately
• Spearhead the completion of sidework, aiming to accomplish as much as possible during time left on the clock

Closing Server Responsibilities:

• Ensure the completion of all sidework by double-checking all FOH sidework sheets
• Final walk-around of the restaurant and visual check of all service areas
• Complete the staff tipout sheet at the end of every shift, inputting hours, checkout totals, and cash amounts
• Double-check any cash received from servers and verify accuracy of payout from MOD
• Count, confirm, and divide tips appropriately for all staff members in the tip pool
• Confirm BOH tips every evening with the closing Chef on duty
• Distribute tip envelopes to any employees still on the premises when money is complete
• Organize remaining tip envelopes into the FOH and BOH tip accordions which live in the safe

Job Skills:

• Ability to move quickly but attentively in a small, compact dining room
• Ability to think and communicate in high-pressure situations
• In-depth knowledge of the food menu, ingredients, sourcing, and cooking techniques used
• Professional-level wine service
• In-depth knowledge of both wines by the glass as well as the full bottle list
• In-depth knowledge of all other beverages we offer including: house cocktails, sake, vermouth, amari, cider, beer, after dinner drinks, and N/A beverages
• Ability to make food and beverage pairing recommendations

Compensation: Hourly ($19.61) plus tips
