Music Coordinator: Advent Houston

Plan and program weekly worship services in coordination with the Senior Pastor to integrate worship service theme Lead musically in worship services to best facilitate congregational participation in worship. Recruit, equip, and coach a team of volunteer and/or paid musicians for Sunday worship, maintaining the band composition and bench-building standards below. Coordinate music for other services and events. Schedule and lead rehearsal time ahead of each Sunday service. Recruit and develop additional worship leaders alongside the instrumental bench (see Worship Leader Development). Actively build relationships with professional musicians and students at area university and campus ministries who might be able to serve as regular attending band members. (See Networking Goals). Position Qualifications: Follower of Christ. Love for music and for the people of God to sing praises to Jesus. Skilled music background, with a preference for some experience in music leading in a ministry setting. Passionate about Advent Houston’s philosophy of ministry. Knowledgeable of audio/video equipment and software. Demonstrated ability to build and lead a team of musicians. Proficiency in playing a musical instrument, such as guitar or piano Humble and teachable spirit.
