Blood Collection Staff - Customer Service

Job Description We provide paid training; no prior medical experience required. Working as a phlebotomist, you will use your healthcare and customer service skills to assist with every step of the blood collection process: transporting and setting up equipment at collection sites, creating a welcoming environment for volunteer donors, and following all safety procedures to ensure collected blood is delivered safely to hospitals. Key Responsibilities Take the time to personally connect with donors, listening to their stories and helping them understand the impact of their donation. Collaborate with teammates to create a welcoming and friendly environment so that volunteer donors feel comfortable returning. Maintain detailed orientation throughout the shift to ensure collected blood meets regulatory requirements and can be safely transfused. Drive Red Cross vehicles and assist with setting up and tearing down equipment at donation sites (position requires a minimum height of 60 inches). Schedule Variable schedule including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays; overnight travel may be required in some locations. Schedule is provided 2–3 weeks in advance. Pay Information Starting rate is $20.66 per hour. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required. Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required. A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required. DOT certification is required, including passing applicable DOT physical and related requirements and possessing or obtaining medical certification at least one year in duration. Physical requirements: ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs; good manual dexterity; ability to sit or stand for long periods; adaptability to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes (position requires minimum height of 60 inches). Ability to work as part of a team to set up and tear down equipment for mobile blood drives at various locations. Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are required. Competitive Edge Prior healthcare or phlebotomy experience (e.g., CNA, MA, EMT). Prior leadership experience.
