Senior SDET Engineer

Salary: $120,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We bring at least 6 years of experience in software engineering or test automation, with substantial hands-on work writing production-quality code.
• We have strong experience with JavaScript or TypeScript and modern automation frameworks such as Nightwatch, Playwright, Cypress, or similar tools.
• We have proven experience designing and owning a test automation framework, not just writing tests within an existing one.
• We have strong experience testing RESTful APIs, including contract, integration, and data-driven approaches.
• We have experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• We understand relational databases and SQL well enough for test data setup and verification.
• We can define a coherent testing strategy across multiple client platforms and explain coverage trade-offs.
• We have experience working in Git-based workflows, including Bitbucket, and participating in structured code reviews.
• We are comfortable working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• We have experience mentoring engineers on quality practices.
• We have experience with mobile automation, particularly React Native, using tools such as Maestro, Appium, or similar.
• We are familiar with performance and load testing.
• We have exposure to observability and monitoring tools such as Grafana or Firebase, and we use production signals to target coverage.
• We have experience with feature-flag-driven release strategies such as LaunchDarkly or similar.
• Nice to have: experience testing Electron desktop applications.
• Nice to have: experience testing offline-first or sync-heavy applications.
• Nice to have: experience establishing a quality function within an organization.

• We own the automated testing strategy across API, web, desktop, and mobile surfaces.
• We design, build, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks, along with shared utilities, fixtures, and test data.
• We define release-readiness criteria and quality gates, and we own reporting that makes release risk visible to Engineering and Product.
• We embed with a product squad, joining design and shaping discussions early to identify testability and risk before implementation begins.
• We integrate automated suites into CI/CD pipelines so coverage runs on every change and results are actionable.
• We investigate failures, separate genuine defects from flakiness, and treat suite reliability as a first-class priority.
• We partner with engineers to improve unit and integration coverage, not only end-to-end testing.
• We review test code and mentor other SDETs and engineers on automation practices.
• We help define engineering quality standards, tooling, and processes across the team.
