Director of Women's Basketball Operations Location: Campus Commitment to On-Campus Experience: This position is based at the above campus location and requires regular in-person presence to support our students, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to our thriving academic environment. Remote work arrangements are limited in accordance with University policy. Hours: Standard University business hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm (academic year), 8:00am – 4:30pm (summer). Hours may vary based on operational needs. Job Type: Full-time Job Description: The Director of Women’s Basketball Operations is responsible for managing the efficient operation of the women's basketball office, including all team travel, liaison with department support services, compliance office, and administration; responsible for budget/financial management; overseeing gameday activities; and, at the direction of the WBB coaching staff, assist with the coordination of recruit visits. Must adhere to all departmental policies and procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, Atlantic Coast Conference, and the NCAA. Education and Experience Master’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary. Skills and Knowledge Business background and collegiate basketball experience required. Strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Ability to manage, evaluate and direct activities of various employees at varying levels. Must possess the ability to work extended hours, meet project deadlines and work under time constraint pressure. Excellent management and organizational skills and knowledge of computer software. Strong familiarity, understanding of, and practical experience with major issues concerning student-athlete welfare and conduct, academic enhancement and performance, and role of and relationship between intercollegiate athletics and higher education. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, presentation and interpersonal skills combined with the ability to successfully interact with diverse individuals from both University and community related constituencies for maximizing University and departmental goals, objectives, relationships and representation. Established history of quality relationships with staff, coaches, student-athletes, administrators, parents, donors, and University faculty and staff preferred. Responsibilities Administrative duties and projects assigned by Head Coach and Deputy Athletic Director, such as liaison with officials and compiling and reporting ratings. Responsible for overseeing practice operations, including practice and facility scheduling, meals, and manager coordination. Assist with non-conference game scheduling and coordination of student-athlete schedules and obligations. Assist with the coordination of all paperwork for incoming student-athletes, including admissions, compliance, housing, financial aid, eligibility and clearinghouse data. Maintain thorough understanding of University, ACC, and NCAA rules and regulations. Manage all aspects of team travel, including arranging flights (charter manifests), buses, hotel accommodations, developing itineraries and schedules, managing per diem, and making alternate arrangements when unexpected situations arise. Assist Deputy AD with post-season coordination, planning and managing team/staff travel for the event(s). Operate a program that is fiscally responsible and maintains a balanced budget. Prepare annual budget plan and proactively monitor expenditures to ensure a balanced budget. Work collaboratively with staff as the financial reviewer for travel vouchers, employee expense vouchers, departmental purchase requisitions, apparel and equipment, credit card reconciliations, and all purchases that will affect the budget. At the direction of the Women’s Basketball coaching staff, coordinate recruiting visits, including schedules, hotel and meal arrangements. Serve as liaison with department’s marketing, media relations, fund-raising, ticket office, training room staff, Athletics Facilities Director, and Dome staff. On-court and other duties as assigned.
