Clinical Operations Manager for Pulmonary and Blood Gas Labs Job Description $25k Sign-On Bonus Key Qualifications Bachelor's degree required from an accredited school of Respiratory Care. Current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in the State of New Jersey. BLS certification required. Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist Certification required within two years of hire or transfer. Minimum 5-7 years acute respiratory care experience in a hospital setting. Strong understanding of Blood Gas CAP regulatory requirements, Respiratory Care Quality & PI, and organizational vision and values. Strong interpersonal, communication, and management skills. Under the administrative direction of the Respiratory Care Operations Director and medical direction provided by the Medical Director, the Clinical Operations Manager is responsible for providing administrative, technical, and clinical direction for Respiratory Care Services. The role oversees and manages the blood gas lab and pulmonary lab operations for adult and pediatric respiratory care. The manager ensures that all programs, practices, policies and procedures are consistent with the Medical Center's policies, goals, and quality standards. This includes regulatory compliance, participation in medical center committees, aiding surveys by accrediting agencies, presenting supporting data and documents, and following up on action plans. The manager promotes employee engagement and performance improvements for respiratory, pulmonary, and blood gas lab staff. Additional responsibilities include planning and improving patient satisfaction, employee training and development, achieving industry leading quality standards, and cutting‑edge clinical programs. In the Respiratory Care Director’s absence, the manager provides direction and oversight of the Respiratory Care Department, Blood Gas Lab, and Pulmonary Services Lab. The manager assists in resolving staff issues, performance reviews, budget monitoring, preparing staff schedules, implementing performance improvement activities, and orienting new employees. The position participates in on‑call rotations and direct patient care as required. Requires sitting at a desk or computer for majority of the day with frequent walking and standing. Reporting Relationship Reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
