Payroll Administrator

A construction company in Escondido, CA is seeking a Payroll Administrator for a temp-to-hire opportunity. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who is bilingual in Spanish and experienced in processing accurate, compliant payroll in a fast-paced business environment.

The Payroll Administrator will support payroll processing, employee pay and benefit entitlements, reporting, recordkeeping, and compliance with payroll laws and regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Collect, verify, and process payroll information accurately and on schedule.
- Determine employee pay, benefits, sickness pay, vacation pay, and other payroll-related entitlements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and provide payroll information to internal departments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Review payroll budgets and prepare payroll reports, statements, and summaries.
- Support employee benefits administration and ensure timely payment of wages.

Compensation and Benefits

- Pay: $24 to $34 per hour, depending on experience.
- Job Type: Temp-to-hire.
- Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Friday Schedule: 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
- Location: Escondido, CA.

Additional Skills

Required Qualifications 

- Payroll administration experience.
- Bilingual in Spanish is required.
- Strong understanding of payroll processing, payroll records, benefits, and wage calculations.
- Ability to handle special payroll situations, including sickness pay and vacation pay.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and follow-through.
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, management, and internal departments.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet payroll deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

- Sage 100 experience is a plus.
- Payroll experience within construction, field services, or a similar workforce environment is preferred.
- Experience reviewing payroll budgets and preparing payroll reports is helpful.
