Job Description

As a light equipment operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating production machinery according to job specifications. You will read and interpret tape measures, copy folders, and other setup documentation to ensure the accurate operation of machinery.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate production machinery according to job specifications.
• Read and interpret tape measures, copy folders, and other setup documentation.
• Operate unwind systems and related systems to prepare, feed, and replace materials.
• Inspect and monitor print quality, perforations, registration lines, and materials to ensure accuracy.
• Maintain proper records of roll weights, material usage, and production activity.
• Perform basic adjustments, clear jams, and assist with routine machine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, following all company safety procedures.
• Communicate with supervisors or maintenance regarding equipment or quality issues.
• Complete production and quality documentation accurately.

Essential Skills

• 6 months of machine operating experience
• Mechanical aptitude
• Troubleshooting knowledge
• Ability to load materials using a forklift or manual pallet jack
• Proficiency in reading and writing English
• Basic math skills and use of tape measure
• Consistent lifting of 50+ lbs

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic hand tools and power tools
• Ability to assist the machine operator in ensuring that the machines stay loaded and operating

Work Environment

This role operates on the 2nd shift from 3pm to 11pm in a paper processing and manufacturing facility. The production floor is very loud, requiring ear plugs and steel toe (or composite) shoes at all times.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Covington, TN.

The pay range for this position is $17.75 - $17.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Covington,TN.
