About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Strong telemetry skills and experience with acute patients Description: This position involves caring for adults and geriatrics, primarily focusing on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients. The staffing goal ratio is 1:4, but can be adjusted to 1:5 based on patient needs. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with no set or blocked scheduling. Self-scheduling requests are accepted to accommodate preferred schedules. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. Essential skills include telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, as well as central and peripheral line care and management is crucial. Candidates must have a strong understanding of computerized charting systems. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration, with services available such as physical therapy and pharmacy. Previous experience in a similar environment is necessary, especially within the last three years. Candidates should be prepared for compliance credentialing processes and provide professional references upon request.
