The Cook Family Health Center provides primary healthcare services for Bloomington-area Cook Group company employees and their families.

Overview

The Medical Assistant at the Cook Family Health Center provides high-quality patient care by supporting providers and patients through various tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.

Responsibilities

Must be available evenings until 6pm and rotating Saturday's until 12:30p

• Patient Intake & Assisting Provider
• Setting up equipment and assisting during exams and procedures
• Collecting lab specimens
• Phlebotomy
• Patient Education & Communication
• Administer medication/Injections
• Schedule outside appointments
• Order stock
• Manage disposal of biohazards
• Electrocardiogram
• Sterile technique
• Clean and stock exam rooms/lab
• Electronic Health Records data entry

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology required
• 1-2 years required technician experience in medical office environment; primary care preferred
• Current CMA or LPN preferred
• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) experience
• Previous multi-line phone & customer service experience

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

• Ability to walk & stand for long periods of time
• Able to bend, stoop, kneel or crouch
• Utilizes close visual acuity for working with computers, equipment, etc.
• Able to lift 20+ pounds occasionally
