Automation & Controls Engineer (SCADA)

Overview Tetra Tech has an opening for an Automation Engineer to join the Systems Integration team. Hybrid work is expected at various client sites around the San Jose, CA area. This position supports Tetra Tech’s municipal and industrial water and wastewater market. The selected candidate will be involved with PLC & SCADA projects located in various areas of the country, working with a team of in-house experts in all disciplines. The individual must provide accurate and high-quality work with minimal supervision. Primary Responsibilities Lead SCADA system design, write specifications, PLC and HMI programming, simulation and testing, and startup assistance; Maintain and grow solid client relationships (internal and external). Required Skills Aveva System Platform is a plus; Experience with Allen-Bradley (RSLogix 5000 PLC software) or Schneider Electric (Control Expert) is required; Knowledge of cybersecurity; computer networking, virtualization, Server OS is a plus; VTScada is a plus; Rockwell FactoryTalk View (SE and ME) is a plus; GE iFIX is a plus; Ignition by Inductive Automation is a plus; Control Systems PE is a plus; Experience with MSSQL Server, SQL Reporting Services is a plus. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or related technical degree is preferred; PE a plus. 3-8 years of related automation experience with HMI’s, PLC’s and general SCADA integration. Ability and willingness to travel is required. Approximately 25% overnight travel may be required to support startup and troubleshooting activities.
