Oncor (together with its subsidiaries) operates the largest transmission and distribution system in Texas, delivering power to nearly 4.1 million homes and businesses and operating more than 145,000 miles of transmission and distribution lines in Texas.SummaryAs a Senior Accountant at Oncor, you're responsible for performing various general accounting activities including journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, intercompany settlements, payroll reconciliations and bank account reconciliations. This role will provide support preparing, processing, reviewing and analyzing various general ledger activities and reporting financial and statistical transactions for Oncor Electric Delivery and Oncor Electric Delivery Holdings Company, LLC.Key Roles & ResponsibilitiesDirectly or through others, the incumbent:Performs monthly closing responsibilities including journal entry preparation and approval, account reconciliations and analysis.Prepares and analyzes financial and operational information for SEC reporting (RFI's) and audit inquiries.Prepares and analyzes information used for inclusion in compliance filings with the Public Utility Commission of Texas, FERC, and other regulatory authorities.Prepares invoicing/billing changes to specific customer groups.Prepare cost accounting analysis of various Oncor Electric Delivery Business Units.Prepares various reports for management as requested.Minimum EducationBachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred.Master's Degree in Accounting encouraged to apply.Certified Public Accountant encouraged to apply.Minimum Experience3 years of accounting experience required; Public accounting experience is preferred.Minimum SkillsKnowledge of regulated industry practices and Generally Accepted Accounting PrinciplesExposure to regulatory accounting environment such as knowledge of rate case filing package requirements, schedule and RFI preparation and rate case proceedingsProficiency in desktop business productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite 2010)Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work across organizational lines and with other non-financial disciplinesMeasures of SuccessAccurate and timely preparation of reportsAccurate completion of journals and account reconciliationsProactive team memberCompliance with accounting policies, procedures and key controlsBenefitsAt Oncor, we offer a comprehensive set of benefits, compensation and performance management programs designed specifically to attract, retain, motivate and reward our high-performing workforce.
