Benfield Electric Supply is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Credit and Collections Specialist to become a vital part of our finance team. Key Responsibilities: Evaluate customer creditworthiness and process incoming payments efficiently. Monitor past due invoices and manage a high volume of collections contacts via phone, email, and customer portals. Collaborate with customers to resolve disputes regarding unpaid or short-paid invoices, documenting detailed reasons for any discrepancies. Perform customer account reconciliations, including research of unapplied cash, credits, and unearned discounts. Assess the collectability of unearned cash discounts and perform write-offs of uncollectible amounts within your authority. Review credit holds and make recommendations for order releases based on thorough assessments of customer financial standings. Generate financial statements and reports detailing accounts receivable status. What We’re Looking For: Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience: At least 1 year of experience in accounts receivable, accounting, finance, or general business is required; 3 years is preferred. Skills: Strong knowledge of billing procedures and basic accounting principles. Familiarity with fair credit practices and collection regulations. Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems/databases. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service orientation. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
