Accounting Specialist

You will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to providing Accounting administrative support. Summary The Accounting Specialist supports the firm’s accounting and administrative operations, with primary responsibility for accounts payable and receivable, vendor management, financial reporting, compliance support, and related accounting functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism in a fast-paced professional-services environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Process, record, and track accounts payable transactions Post, reconcile, and research accounts receivable activity Reconcile corporate credit card accounts and maintain supporting documentation Maintain accurate vendor records and required compliance documentation Assist with Form 1099 preparation and related accounting records Process expense reports and employee reimbursements Prepare and coordinate check runs Generate and distribute standard management reports, including WIP, A/R aging, fees, time, and other financial reports Research and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues as needed Maintain accurate and organized financial records Handle client and firm financial information with strict confidentiality and in accordance with the firm’s ethical and professional obligations Monitor and manage departmental shared inboxes and ensure timely follow-up Draft and distribute accounting-related communications to firm personnel Maintain organized electronic records and documentation in SharePoint and OneDrive Assist with accounting workflow improvements, process enhancements, and special projects Provide general administrative support to the accounting function as needed Qualifications Minimum of two years of accounting or bookkeeping experience Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Demonstrated ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Company Benefits Firm offers a sound future, competitive salary, and excellent benefits package. 40-hour work week with a one-hour lunch break Professional environment and the opportunity to work with attorneys at the top of their field Healthcare benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision and FSA options 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer matching option Generous paid time off Paid parking Schedule 8-hour shift (Monday thru Friday) This is an in-office position (not remote or hybrid position) This position description intends to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position.
