Tooling Design Engineer

Tool And Die DesignerThe primary responsibilities of this role are designing, constructing, and maintaining tooling used in our manufacturing process. This position is also responsible for the supervision and development of our Tool and Die Department. This role is a key member of our engineering team and promotes a culture of Quality, Continuous Improvement, Lean implementation to drive change. Building upon previous successes this role will take our Tool and Die team to the next level. Collaborate with cross function teams and department leaders to support the creation and implementation of manufacturing strategies, which will lead to improvements in employee safety, quality performance, product delivery, and reductions in product/process variation.No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates residing within a 50-mile radius of Washington, PA will be considered. Active-duty military members exempt from this geographical limitation. In this function you will:Design and development of stamping tooling including strip layouts, simulations, die construction and press specificationsDevelop and construct progressive dies and tools to produce steel outlet boxesImplement maintenance and repair programs for production tooling to ensure optimal performance and longevityInspect completed parts and compare to die specifications for accuracy and quality, adhering to strict manufacturing standardsIdentify and resolve problems to minimize downtime and maintain workflowWork closely with engineering and Master Die Makers to improve die designs and enhance production efficiencyMaintain accurate records of die maintenance, repairs, and modifications for future referenceParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and die performanceTrack and report progress of tooling programs from sourcing to a production ready stateBasic (Required) Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Institution is required.Minimum of two years of experience designing complex, progressive stamping dies.Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated proficiency with lean manufacturing tools/elements (VSM, 5S, Std Work, Set-Up Reduction, etc.)Experience with Servo Press.Understanding of die sensors, vision inspection, and/or related technology with ability to incorporate into tooling or process.Familiarity with ISO 9001 requirements including participation in audits.Ability to troubleshoot stamping operations.Understanding of ANSI/ISO drawing standards and knowledge of GD&T dimensioning.Knowledge of Wire EDM and/or CNC machining technologies.Knowledge of tool steels and their applications.
