Field Service Technician

Job DescriptionPosition SummaryPine Creek is looking for qualified RNG Field Service Technicians to perform operation and maintenance of Renewable Natural Gas Collection Systems and Upgrading Plants throughout the United States. This is a travel-based role supporting multiple plants: the ideal candidate lives within approximately one hour of one of our existing facilities and travels to other project sites on a rotating basis.As part of a dedicated team, this position will include many areas of hands on technical and mechanical process operation and procedure development. We are looking for individuals with strong technical and operational experience, willingness to travel to project sites on a regular rotating schedule, and broad general process development / utility engineering / gas upgrading plant experience. The following is a list of expected responsibilities, however, as a growing organization, you will need to demonstrate agility as we grow to meet business and customer requirements.Position Location and TimingThis role is home-based. Preference will be given to candidates who already reside within approximately one hour’s drive of one of our operating plants, so that home base and primary support territory align. Our operating plants are located in Richland, Washington; Milan, Illinois; Elberta, Utah; and Waterloo, Iowa. Candidates located elsewhere with strong relevant experience are still encouraged to apply.Travel is a core part of this position. The technician should expect to be at plant sites approximately 2 to 3 weeks per month, with the balance of time spent at their home base on reporting, planning, and remote support. Travel schedules are set in advance where possible but must flex to respond to outages and commissioning work.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRead, interpret, and understand construction / engineering drawings.Document and maintain project information in an organized and accessible manner.Document work orders, parts usage, and completed maintenance in the CMMS (MaintainX).Maintain safe, professional, and ethical behavior at all times.Efficiently manipulate various computer programs and applications.Work efficiently in both a team or independent setting.Articulate system recommendations, requirements, corrections, or improvements as required.Travel to and operate out of project locations approximately 2 to 3 weeks per month.Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults across multiple facilities.Support commissioning, startup, and performance testing of new and modified equipment.Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on gas compression and upgrading equipment.Attend or present training courses as required.Maintain personal physical and mental health sufficient to perform required tasks.Possess strong computer skillsMaintain a valid driver’s license and reliable transportationPerform other duties as assigned or directed by management.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities)Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management or Construction related degree.10+ years of experience in operation and maintenance of a process facility (preferable)5+ years of experience in a position directly responsible for a gas upgrading or process facility (preferable)Basic level knowledge of landfill gas collection and upgrading systems / technology.General knowledge and experience with plant maintenance and construction procedures.General knowledge and experience with mechanical troubleshooting and repair of process equipment.General knowledge and experience with electrical troubleshooting, controls, and instrumentation.General knowledge and experience with tools, materials, and equipment.General knowledge and experience with safety equipment and procedures.General knowledge and experience developing and implementing operating, emergency, and maintenance procedures.Present a favorable background checkPresent a negative drug testPass pre-employment physicalPreferred QualificationsThe following are not required, but will significantly strengthen a candidate’s profile:Demonstrated diagnostic and root cause analysis ability on complex process equipment.Advanced electrical and controls experience, including PLC programming and calibration.Engineering background or formal engineering training.Hands-on experience with gas compression equipment and compressor maintenance.Experience working within a CMMS for work orders and preventive maintenance.Residence near an existing Pine Creek operating facility.Physical Demands and Work EnvironmentThis job will require the employee to be hands-on at the facility and be able to do the following tasks.Ability to lift items more than 50lbsClimb stairsWork outside in all weather conditionsWork with large equipmentThe ability to hear, understand, and distinguish other sounds (e.G., machinery alarms)Other such tasks normal for facilities of this natureCompensationWe offer competitive compensation commensurate with relevant education, experience and skills, in addition to a full benefits package.Equal Employment OpportunityPine Creek is an equal opportunity employer.
