Registered Nurse Telemetry Med-Surg

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the MS/Tele Float role provides skilled nursing care across multiple units including medical/surgical, telemetry, and cardiac step-down. The RN supports patient care for a diverse population including ER boarded patients, adapting to varying nurse-to-patient ratios. This role includes occasional charge nurse responsibilities on small units, requiring coordination of staffing, bed flow, and general unit management. US RN experience and charge nurse experience are essential. The position operates primarily on a 12-hour night shift schedule. Responsibilities: Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license valid in the United States (Canadian experience alone is not acceptable).
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in acute care settings within the US.
• Charge nurse experience, particularly in small unit settings.
• Competency in medical/surgical, telemetry, or cardiac step-down nursing care.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records.
• Strong communication, clinical assessment, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience in cardiac step-down and float pool nursing.
• Previous charge nurse experience managing staffing and bed flow.
• Familiarity with short term acute care hospital environment.

Special Considerations:

• Must confirm with manager prior to accepting any 48-hour/week contracts.
• Charge nurse responsibilities limited to small units staffed by 1 2 RNs supported by LPNs and CNAs.
• Float role requires adaptability to varied patient populations and unit needs.

Scheduling:

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 1900 to 0730.
• Shift assignments based on institutional needs and float requirements.
• Start date: ASAP.
