Patient Access Representative

Position Title: Patient Registration Representative Experience Level: Intermediate Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Registration Representative to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while ensuring accurate patient registration, insurance verification, and admissions processing. The ideal candidate will have experience with Epic, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities + Greet and check in patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. + Register patients and accurately enter patient demographic information into the system. + Verify patient and visitor identity by collecting required information and photo identification. + Determine patient payment options, including identifying patients who can pay out-of-pocket or those who may require financial assistance. + Explain consent forms and obtain necessary signatures from patients. + Provide admissions and registration paperwork and ensure all required documentation is completed. + Verify insurance coverage and update patient records as needed. + Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients with questions regarding appointments, registration, and insurance. + Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with organizational policies and procedures. + Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient patient flow and exceptional patient experiences. Required Skills + Experience using Epic or a similar electronic health record (EHR) system. + Strong patient service and customer service skills. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Strong attention to detail and accuracy. + Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively. + Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. + Professional demeanor and strong problem-solving skills. Qualifications + Previous experience in patient registration, healthcare administration, medical front office, or a related healthcare setting. + Intermediate-level experience in patient access, registration, or customer service. + High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
