If you are a Structural Engineer with MNDOT experience we would love for you to continue reading and apply.What You Will Do: Assist in leading a team performing bridge design and other structural design for a wide variety of clients including cities, counties, state, Department of Transportation (DOT, specifically MNDOT), and private entities Use innovative approaches to provide our clients with efficient designs focused on qualityUtilize your engineering design skills to perform and check structural calculations for both new and existing structures to direct engineering technicians in the development of engineering drawingsDevelop project specifications and special provisions, to conduct structural inspections Write reports regarding the inspection and evaluation of existing facilitiesWhile bridge projects are expected to make up the majority of your work, you will also be required to provide structural design and analysis for retaining walls, buildings and other vertical structures, and hydraulic structures such as clarifiers, tanks, dam, and weirsYour experience level will determine the amount of independent judgment granted, the complexity of tasks performed, and direct supervision receivedWhat You Will Bring:Bachelor Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of five years’ work experience of bridge and related structural designRegistration as a Professional Engineer Experience working with MNDOTCertification as a Bridge Safety Inspection Team Leader preferred but not requiredFamiliar with LRFD design procedures, bridge design software, calculation software such as Microsoft Excel or MathCAD, possess basic drawing skills in either Microstation or AutoCAD, and have proven engineering design experience. Excellent technical, communication and organizational skills are requiredEagerness both to share knowledge with and mentor less experienced staff as well as to learn from more experienced engineers and technicians is essential for success in this positionPreference for full time 40 hours a week, would consider 30 hours a week for the right candidateWho We Are: WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in Transportation, Community Planning, Environmental, Energy, Municipal, and Construction services.
