The shift is night, working 4 shifts of 12 hours each week. The start date is as soon as possible. No extensions offered after the original contract. Candidates must have 1 year of experience in labor and delivery. High-risk experience is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Ability to work every other weekend and holidays is required. Floating may be required to postpartum and antepartum units. The unit handles high-risk and high-volume labor and delivery cases. All types of deliveries are performed in this unit. All clinicians are expected to function in a fast-paced environment. Staffing adheres to established guidelines for patient care. Nurses may float to other sister facilities as needed. Candidates will perform newborn care during delivery and continue care until transfer to postpartum. Experience with electronic fetal monitoring is essential. Candidates will need to manage medications and perform various nursing skills related to labor and delivery. Expected daily census is approximately 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries monthly. The unit consists of 31 rooms with 31 beds. Candidates must be prepared for high acuity environments and a rapid workflow. References will be required.
