Sushi Chef | Blue Sushi Sake Grill | 5th & Broadway $25–$28+ /hour average total earnings Includes hourly base pay plus tip out. Earnings may vary by shift and business volume. Previous experience working as a Sushi Chef or in a similar kitchen role preferred, but not required. We have a thorough training program to prepare individuals with strong knife skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn for success in the role. Requirements: Strong knife skills, clean work habits, and the ability to follow recipes, prep guides, and presentation standards accurately. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work well with kitchen and service team members. Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently while staying organized during prep and service. Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining food quality, consistency, and sanitation standards. Positive attitude, team-first mindset, and willingness to jump in where needed to support the overall guest experience. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities: Prepare sushi, sashimi, rolls, and other menu items according to recipes, presentation standards, and restaurant specifications. Ensure the quality, freshness, proper storage, and safe handling of ingredients, including seafood, rice, produce, sauces, and garnishes. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper stocking of the sushi bar and kitchen area throughout prep and service. Adhere to food safety, sanitation, allergy awareness, cross-contact prevention, and raw seafood handling standards at all times. Collaborate with kitchen and service team members to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service. Assist with daily prep, station setup, restocking, breakdown, and end-of-shift cleaning duties. Assist in inventory management by communicating product levels, quality concerns, and ordering needs to leadership.
