Account Manager, Commercial Lines

Job Overview The Account Manager's main responsibility is to manage daily client service needs for a designated book of business, which may be overseen by a Producer or Account Executive responsible for service, placement, and business development. Responsibilities Support renewal strategy including discussion of markets, claims reviews, and exposure gathering. Manage a renewal book of business, creating submissions and supporting placement processes, including proposals and binding. Draft exposure gathering information, loss exhibits, submissions, and proposals; obtain loss run or policy documentation directly from a carrier website as needed. Serve as primary recipient of daily client questions or changes, and coordinate with Associate Account Managers or third‑party vendors to issue certificates, invoices, policy/endorsement/audit checking, and submit changes to carriers. Update the system of record to reflect conversations, communications, and policy documentation. Process monthly, quarterly, or annual audits and monthly reports; review non‑complex contracts. Manage claims by instructing clients to report losses directly to carriers or by providing claims reporting and ongoing support for large claims. Set up policies in the system of record for billing, request invoices on agency‑bill policies, communicate with clients and Producers regarding aged A/R issues, and return funds to clients as appropriate. Respond timely to accounting requests for information such as carrier discrepancies and cash application. Align renewal support contract (RSC) with partner carriers and intermediaries to place renewals with ideal markets and implement the “Fewer & Stronger” market consolidation initiative. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in a Property & Casualty brokerage environment. Knowledge of Property & Casualty business. Hold insurance licenses as required by the Company. Ability to follow process and procedures guidance. Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Ability to display tact and poise under pressure when working through issues. Good communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Ability to work efficiently in teams. Physical Demands & Work Environment The employee must be able to effectively manage the demands of a fast‑paced work environment, adapt to changing priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain composure under pressure while meeting deadlines and performance expectations. This position requires the ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods, focus on tasks involving prolonged screen time, and perform repetitive motions such as typing and mouse use in a standard office environment. Regular phone communication is essential; the employee must make and receive calls as part of daily responsibilities, communicate effectively and professionally, and provide accurate information in a clear and courteous manner.
