Assembly Technician

Gulf Fiberoptics Assembly TechnicianHours: Monday - Friday 7:30am -4:00pmThe position's main responsibility is for a variety of steps in the assembly of medical fiber optic light guide bundles and endoscopic cables. A high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all activities assigned is essential.Responsibilities and DutiesInterpret drawings and routers to determine correct materials required for assembly.Maintain necessary documentation on work performed following established work instructions or procedures.Perform assembly functions required for tasks assigned following approved processes and training.Rotate among various assembly processes and in process jobs as required.Follow established procedures and drawing notes to affect compliant assemblies.Qualifications and SkillsAbility to read, write, speak and communicate in English.Ability to work alone and stay on task as required.Ability to work closely with other technicians as required.Ability to use a microscope and inspection loupesGood arm-hand steadiness and ability to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objectsThe ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands.Stand or sit for extended periods of time.Excellent near vision and hand/eye coordination.Bend, stoop and stretch as required for placement and/or retrieval of materials used in assembly process(es).Lift materials of up to 40 lbs as may be needed.Prior work experience in electronics or small assembly a plus.
