Plant Helper

Plant Helper Evergy is recruiting candidates for a Plant Helper at our Hawthorn Generating Station. The position involves performing manual labor in connection with plant cleanup, cinder disposal, fuel handling, and general building and grounds maintenance. The candidate will assist maintenance crafts or operations personnel when needed, assist in storeroom or drive trucks and forklift when needed, clean the area in the plant office, and perform other janitorial work as assigned. The position also requires the use of power tools and the potential to promote into boiler or fuel operations departments. The candidate must be licensed to drive as required by state law, be mechanically inclined, and capable of absorbing training necessary for qualifications in higher jobs in boiler operations or fuel operations department. Successful completion of the Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) aptitude test is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is needed.
