Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An exciting opportunity awaits skilled Occupational Therapists with a passion for working in educational settings near Baltimore, MD. Bring your expertise to support elementary-aged students (ages 3 through 5th grade) on a full-time, contract basis during the 2026–2027 school year. This role is on site only, beginning August 10th, 2026 and continuing through June 8th, 2027, with four positions available.
You will collaborate closely with school staff to help students succeed in academic life skills, especially those with high-level autism, communication, and behavioral needs. The district boasts a robust mentor program and strong behavioral supports to set you up for success. Schedules are flexible—therapists create their daily routines based on caseload needs with administrator approval, with 21 hours of direct services each week and the remainder reserved for paperwork, planning, and collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
- Active MD Occupational Therapist (OT) license or, for exceptional candidates, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license
- Experience in school-based settings, preferably with elementary-aged children
- Comfortable working with students who have high-level autism, communication, or behavioral needs
- Able to manage variable caseloads, possibly across multiple school sites
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to assigned students in elementary grades (3 through 5th)
- Support students’ academic life skills, focusing on communication and behavioral interventions
- Collaborate with educational teams, families, and district specialists
- Maintain thorough documentation and participate in planning and team meetings
- Adjust schedule and caseload management as needed, with direct administrator support
