Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Labor and Delivery (L&D) at a healthcare facility in Wenatchee, Washington. This position involves providing high-quality maternal and neonatal care during night shifts, with responsibilities encompassing patient assessment, medication administration, care planning, patient education, and collaboration with the healthcare team. The role requires adherence to clinical standards and regulatory guidelines to ensure safe and effective patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • Valid Washington State or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Active BLS (Basic Life Support), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and Electronic Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) certifications
  • Must adhere to organization policies and unit standards
  • Consistently functions within the guidelines of the Washington Nurse Practice Act and keeps current with applicable legal aspects of nursing
  • Ability to float as a sitter (may float in rotation) and take call if census is low
  • Minimum of 0 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing, with at least 3 years of related experience preferred
• Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and deliver compassionate patient care utilizing the nursing process and unit standards
  • Develop, implement, and continually update individualized care plans for patients
  • Administer medications, perform nursing procedures, and provide treatments
  • Continually evaluate discharge plans for appropriateness and patient education needs
  • Document assessments, care provided, interventions, and patient responses accurately
  • Collect patient information to support safe and high-quality care
  • Perform holistic ongoing evaluations of patient status and respond appropriately
  • Determine and execute appropriate nursing actions to meet physical, psychological, social, and rehabilitative needs
  • Educate patients and their families regarding health information promptly, sharing written materials as needed
  • Maintain current knowledge of workflows, evidence-based procedures, and hospital policies
  • Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise care provided by non-licensed assistive personnel
  • Participate in performance evaluation and quality improvement processes with management
  • Communicate effectively and collaborate with all members of the healthcare team
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with hospital and unit policies
