Job Overview:The primary initial task for this position is to provide support to project lead and team electrical engineers on day-to-day discipline coordination issues, schedule updates, to assist with requisition paperwork, document redlining, and meeting notes, and to become familiar with the discipline activities, deliverables, and team dynamic. Additional potential activities may involve any combination of those described below.In general, the expectation of Electrical Engineers is as follows:Perform electrical engineering for power, oil and gas, and petrochemical projects. Design, analyze and prepare complex project deliverables for power generation systems, substations, power distribution systems, lighting & grounding systems, and other engineering systems as required by each project. Essential Qualifications and Education:Accredited engineering degree may be required by specific regionsMinimum 3-5 years of detailed electrical engineering experience Familiarity with the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE and ANSI, and latest scientific and engineering methodsTechnical knowledge of the detailed design engineering processMS Office Suite including Excel and WordPreferred Qualifications and Education:Prefer BSEE degree Prefer PE or EIT certificate of registrationExperience with Smart Plant Electrical (SPEL), Aveva Electrical/Unified Engineering, ETAPPrefer experience with Renewable sources – wind, solar, BESSPrefer experience with Data Center power system design and engineering#LI-MS1#LI-DNIKey Tasks and Responsibilities:Prepare key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:Specifications and DatasheetsElectrical Load ListOne-line diagramsMotor control schematicsElectrical building and equipment layoutsBills of MaterialCable sizing calculationsConceptual studies and calculationsCost and planning studiesSupport Project Development and Coordination, including (but not limited to) the following:Maintain and promote a focus on McDermott’s end-product throughout engineering, fabrication or constructionReport to and coordinate with electrical engineering project lead and electrical task lead, as applicableEffectively communicate with electrical and other disciplines engineering and designCoordinate and manage change with full awareness of project impactAssume responsibility for cost, schedule, and quantity and budget controlDevelop and review vendor packages, including (but not limited to) the following:Create requisition packages for Substations, Transformers, and Electrical materialsCreate subcontract packages for Heat Tracing, Cathodic Protection and Electrical InstallationReview supplier documents for electrical and non-electrical packagesAttend Inspection and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of electrical equipment, motors and associated skidsProvide Site Support, including (but not limited to) the following:Provide off-site and/or on-site technical support to Construction personnelCoordinate with office personnel to resolve issues as neededProvide technical support for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) of electrical equipmentAssist with precommissioning, energization, commissioning and start-up, as required by projectFull timePosting Date: 2026-08-31
