RN Labor & Delivery

The L&D RN provides comprehensive care to mothers and newborns throughout labor, delivery, postpartum recovery, and neonatal care. Nurses work closely with physicians, midwives, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive maternal and fetal nursing care during labor and delivery. Monitor vitals, fetal heart rate, and labor progression; recognize distress signals. Document all patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records. Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with obstetric team to develop and adjust birth plans. Administer medications and manage anesthesia- or pain-relief protocols as prescribed. Lead or participate in rapid-response and code events with clinical leadership. Excel in a results-driven environment with measurable targets and clear pipelines. Educate patients and families on labor expectations, procedures, and postpartum care. Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing performance insights and outcomes. Mentor junior staff and contribute to onboarding and professional development. Ensure accurate charge capture and documentation for billing and administrative purposes. Experience/Qualifications Active RN license with obstetric/gynecology experience in labor and delivery. Demonstrated ability to monitor fetal heart rate and labor progression accurately. Proficient documentation in electronic medical records with precise charge capture. Ability to lead rapid-response and code events with clinical leadership. Experience administering analgesia/anesthesia protocols and maternal sedation as prescribed. Strong collaboration with obstetric team to develop and adjust birth plans. Commitment to infection control, safety standards, and regulatory compliance. Performance-driven mindset with accountability for personal contribution within a team.
