Shifts Available: Nights

Hours: 12-hour shifts 7:00 pm to 7:00 am

Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS

Medical-Surgical LPNs play a vital and dynamic role in delivering compassionate, high-quality care to patients with a wide spectrum of medical needs. From managing complex, acute illnesses to supporting post-operative recovery, they provide hands-on nursing care that truly impacts patient outcomes. In this fast-paced, team-oriented hospital setting, Med-Surg LPNs rely on their strong clinical skills, sharp critical-thinking abilities, and unwavering commitment to patient advocacy. These LPNs are essential partners in coordinating care, anticipating patient needs, and fostering a supportive environment where patients and families feel informed, reassured, and cared for every step of the way.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but is not limited to):

• Provide direct patient care, including hygiene support, mobility assistance, and comfort measures.
• Monitor vital signs, document observations, and report any changes in the patient's condition.
• Administer medications as prescribed and observe for reactions or side effects.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and assist with procedures within the state LPN scope of practice.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and the care team to support individualized care plans.
• Assist with discharge planning and provide patient/family education on treatments and recovery.
• Follow infection control practices and maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state license
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain a current
• IV certification upon hire (state-specific)
