Registered Nurse ICU

Job Summary:

The Critical Care Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU and telemetry units. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in collaboration with the healthcare team to promote optimal health outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Assess patients' physical, mental, and social status through observation, interviews, and review of medical records.
  
  
• 
  Develop and adjust individualized care plans based on patient assessments and data from interdisciplinary team members.
  
  
• 
  Administer medications, monitor symptoms, and manage disease processes in critical care settings.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to medical emergencies such as code blue and medical alerts, utilizing crisis intervention skills.
  
  
• 
  Provide health education, psychosocial support, and medication instructions to patients and their families.
  
  
• 
  Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in accordance with standards of care.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution.
  
  
• 
  Hold a valid New York State RN License.
  
  
• 
  Have at least 2 years of Critical Care nursing experience preferred.
  
  
• 
  Certified in ACLS and BLS as required.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
