Job Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Plastic Components / Medical Devices
Location :Broadview Heights, OH.
Rate: $40/hr - $45/hr on W2.
Duration: 6+ months
Description
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing and developing injection-molded plastic components and mechanical assemblies from concept through production release within a regulated/medical-device environment. The role requires strong Creo CAD, tolerance stack-up, GD&T, engineering drawing, DFM/DFA, and new product introduction (NPI) experience.
Key responsibilities include
Lead design of plastic, sheet metal, metal, and rubber components/assemblies from concept to production.
Create and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings using Creo.
Perform tolerance stack-ups, GD&T, and tolerance analysis for complex assemblies.
Apply DFM principles and support tooling/manufacturing optimization.
Lead subsystem/small project scopes and manage technical deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors on DFM, tooling, and design optimization.
Work within medical-device design controls and regulated environments.
Support NPI from concept through design release/launch.
Education: B.S. in Mechanical, Plastics, Polymer Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 4 6+ years, preferably in medical devices/orthopedics.
