2nd Shift: 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM, Monday through Thursday

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist II to join our machining team. This position plays a critical role in producing precision aerospace components while supporting manufacturing excellence, quality, and on-time delivery.

Position Summary

The Machinist Lathe/Mills safely and effectively performs machine setups and operates multiple CNC machines to manufacture precision products while demonstrating cross-functional competencies in CNC lathes and CNC mills. This role requires strong blueprint reading, GD&T interpretation, advanced inspection skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and control manufacturing processes with minimal assistance. The Machinist Lathes/Mills supports operational excellence by driving continuous improvement in quality, productivity, and process performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment at all times.
• Follow company 5S guidelines and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area at all times.
• Follow company and department guidelines and work instructions.
• Adhere to company quality and safety standards.
• Perform operations per work instructions, process sheets, and documented specifications.
• Perform daily in-process record inspections of product characteristics utilizing a variety of precision inspection tools.
• Complete and log assigned daily and weekly equipment maintenance tasks in MaintainX.
• Maintain real-time processing information in the Machine Metrics performance tracking tool during machining operations.
• Log real-time setup and run data (start time, stop time, conforming and non-conforming quantities) into the job tracking system daily.
• Efficiently set up and run jobs with minimal assistance, ensuring a controlled, effective, and repeatable process.
• Machining of all types of common aerospace materials with only minimal assistance.
• Deburr, clean, and package parts to avoid handling damage as directed.
• Monitor, report product and process non-conformances to Lead, or Supervisor.
• Assist in troubleshooting non-conformances with approved tooling, program, and/or control adjustments.

Qualifications

Training and Experience Requirements 

• Minimum 3-years’ experience in Setup and running CNC machining equipment.
• Minimum 4-years’ precision machining experience.
• Practical experience with G & M codes, tool geometry, and tool wear offsets.
• Superior inspection measurement skills required, including GD&T, optical comparators, microscopes, and manual inspection tools.
• Practical application of machine shop mathematics.
• Exposure to basic CAD/CAM desirable.
• Experience with multi-axis and live-tooling machine tools; sub-spindle experience desirable.
• Experience with the use of Fanuc controls. 
• Experience with Doosan, HAAS, and Brother machine tools is desirable.
• Must have sufficient tools needed to perform job functions .

Education: 

• High School Diploma/GED required. 
• Trade school, vocational education, or 4-year apprenticeship with 1 year of work experience acceptable, in lieu of a high school diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, perform repetitive motions, lift up to 50 pounds, use hand tools, and wear required PPE.
