Manufacturing Engineer II
Careers Integrated Resources Inc
Manufacturing Engineer IIThe Manufacturing Engineer II (Electric Panel & Automation) provides manufacturing engineering support for the maintenance, troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle management of released electrical control panels and automation hardware supporting single-use bioprocessing equipment. This role ensures production continuity and product quality by resolving manufacturing-floor electrical and signal-related issues, maintaining accurate engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs), implementing approved engineering changes, supporting component obsolescence and replacement activities, and improving assembly and testing processes. The position collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and other stakeholders to maintain safe, compliant, manufacturable, and supportable product configurations while reducing defects, rework, downtime, and production risk.Serve as a primary point of contact for production-floor escalations involving released electrical control panels, automation hardware, wiring, signal integrity, component performance, and related manufacturing issues. Troubleshoot electrical, wiring, signal, component, and system issues affecting production, testing, installation, or product performance; identify root causes and implement technically appropriate corrective actions within established engineering standards. Lead or participate in root-cause investigations for recurring production-floor or fielded electrical-system failures, applying structured problem-solving methods and coordinating corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) as appropriate. Revise and maintain accurate released engineering documentation packages, including multi-sheet electrical schematics, 2D/3D panel layouts, single-line diagrams, terminal-strip drawings, wire/run documentation, and related manufacturing documentation, using applicable ECAD/CAD tools. Maintain and audit active Bills of Materials (BOMs), wire-run lists, conductor schedules, and related product documentation to ensure alignment between released engineering records and physical product configurations. Incorporate approved manufacturing, service, quality, and engineering feedback into released drawings, BOMs, work instructions, and related documentation to maintain accurate and manufacturable product configurations. Author, review, and process assigned Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and related configuration changes to document approved hardware updates, component substitutions, design corrections, and field or production fixes. Ensure approved engineering changes are accurately reflected across drawings, BOMs, manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and physical product configurations, maintaining revision control and traceability. Identify obsolete, end-of-life, or at-risk electrical components and coordinate evaluation and qualification of form-fit-function (FFF) replacement components to maintain product continuity, availability, manufacturability, and compliance. Assess impacts to fit, function, electrical performance, documentation, manufacturing processes, and applicable safety or regulatory requirements before implementation. Analyze production defects, rework, test-failure, and yield data to identify recurring issues and implement improvements to electrical assembly, wiring, routing, component installation, and manufacturing processes. Develop or coordinate implementation of assembly fixtures, tooling, visual aids, standardized wire-routing practices, and other manufacturing improvements to improve assembly efficiency, repeatability, quality, and yield. Develop, update, and standardize SOPs, Work Instructions (WIs), crimping standards, visual assembly aids, and other controlled manufacturing documentation to support consistent technician execution. Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve routine production electrical testing infrastructure, including dielectric withstand (hi-pot), ground-continuity, functional test equipment, fixtures, and associated procedures. Review production test methods and equipment for repeatability, effectiveness, safety, and alignment with product requirements; identify opportunities to reduce test failures, false failures, and testing cycle times. Evaluate design revisions, component substitutions, wiring changes, and manufacturing modifications to ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety standards, codes, and regulatory requirements, including IEC/UL 61010-1, UL 508A, NFPA 79, NEC, and other applicable standards. Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, Procurement, Product Engineering, and other stakeholders to resolve product and production issues, implement engineering changes, qualify component substitutions, and maintain manufacturing continuity. Provide Manufacturing Engineering support for field-related electrical issues, collaborating with Service and Engineering to troubleshoot failures, implement approved corrective actions, and incorporate lessons learned into released product documentation and manufacturing processes.Advanced Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline OR Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment OR Associate's Degree in Engineering or Technical field with 4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment OR High School Diploma with 6 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
