Contract | Days | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care in a high-risk, high-volume Labor and Delivery unit serving a diverse patient population including midwifery clients, private OB patients, and community care patients
• Circulate in the OR — required skill; candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, including newborn care, eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections (eyes and thighs), and newborn assessments — required skill; candidates without this experience will not be considered
• Administer and monitor high-acuity medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Utilize EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring systems in accordance with AWHONN staffing guidelines
• Float as needed to Postpartum and Antepartum units, including potential float to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-paced environment — no exceptions
• Demonstrated high-risk L&D experience required
• Proficiency in OR circulation and newborn care (eyes, thighs, and newborn assessments) — hard stop requirements; candidates without these skills will not be considered
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP — proof must be submitted with application
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible as a traveler; local candidates are also accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
• ACLS certification preferred
• AWHONN Advanced or AWHONN Intermediate certification preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records and electronic fetal monitoring
