About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum three (3) years of relevant nursing experience License: Registered Nurse License in good standing Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: EPIC experience required; Trauma level 2 or higher preferred Description: The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame. The RN provides care to patients using the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the institution's philosophy. The RN performs all responsibilities and duties required by the unit as specific to the scope of service. Implements nursing procedures and theories related to the area of practice. Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided. Completes initial assessments upon patient admission and develops appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs. Implements the plan of care, nursing interventions, and patient care procedures. Modifies the plan of care based on continuous evaluation. Takes responsibility for patient and employee safety by reporting safety hazards and incidents. Communicates effectively with others directly to resolve issues. Offers constructive feedback to assist in the professional development of peers. Confers with colleagues to expand knowledge base. Identifies own learning needs and takes initiative to address them. Fulfills all requirements of departmental competencies. Implements procedures and theories specific to Emergency Department nursing. Performs patient assessments and develops care plans in collaboration with providers, family, and patients. Executes the plan of care and nursing interventions. Modifies care plans based on continuous assessment. Is responsible for patient and staff safety through appropriate nursing interventions and adherence to safety standards. Effectively communicates and collaborates with staff, visitors, and families to promote a healthy and healing work environment. Maintains accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
