Travel RN - Telemetry - Progressive Care UnitAmerican TravelerLee's Summit, Missouri, United StatesPosition status: OpenAssignment type: travelShift: DaysLength (weeks): 13Openings: 1$2,019.30/week (estimated advertised weekly pay)American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU RN with 2+ years of telemetry experience and LTAC background for a 13-week travel assignment.DetailsProgressive Care Unit (PCU) setting with a 1:5 patient ratioDay shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM-7:15 PM)8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule, combination of Friday/Saturday/SundayHoliday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unitRegular floating required between departments, units, and facilities as neededNo on-call requirementsDaily census of approximately 30 patients across 30 roomsCares for a wide variety of intermediate level patients including stroke, heart failure, SI, ETOH withdrawal, respiratory failure, pneumonia, GIB, syncope, TIA, falls, renal failure, and post-surgical patients needing higher level monitoringUses Epic charting systemRequirementsActive RN license, Kansas and Missouri or compact license required in hand at time of considerationCurrent BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferredMinimum 2 years of recent in-specialty RN experience required, with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past yearLTAC experience requiredPrevious travel RN experience requiredEpic charting experience requiredExperience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code teams requiredExperience with central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management requiredExperience with blood product administration and IV therapy requiredExperience with feeding tube care and management requiredExperience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure requiredExperience with heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (no titration) requiredExperience with CVA and pre/post neurosurgery care requiredExperience with high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, and oxygen face masks requiredExperience with isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac requiredExperience with surgical drain management requiredExperience in MS/Tele, telemetry, and cardiac telemetry settings requiredPreferred experience in ER holding, neuro stepdown, and PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown settingsPreferred experience with port accessing, vasoactive drip management, and PCAPreferred experience with traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, and total joint replacementsPreferred experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, and tracheostomy managementSocial Security number required at time of considerationTwo professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past yearAdditional InformationProvide comprehensive nursing care to a diverse intermediate-level patient population including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and renal casesCandidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionMaximum RTO of 7 days, with any additional RTO requiring approval prior to submissionNo new RTO requests permitted after submission or post-offerFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyFormer BJC or Saint Luke's permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a travelerReturning travelers must have at least 18 months tenure with a 3-month break in serviceNo travel partners accepted for this positionHours per week: 36Hours per shift: 12
