ASCP Certified Surgical Technologist

Summary: The Surgical Technologist serves as the essential "scrub technologist" within the surgical suite, ensuring smooth and sterile operations. This role may include additional responsibilities as needed to support surgical teams effectively.

Education & Certification: Must hold a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting.

Experience: Preferably at least one year of experience working as a surgical technologist, demonstrating proficiency with complex monitoring and life-saving equipment.

Requirements: Ability to communicate fluently in English, practice Standard Precautions rigorously, and handle exposure risks involving blood or other potentially infectious materials. Candidates should show understanding of the physiological, psychosocial, developmental, and spiritual needs of patients across various age groups.

Physical Demands: This position requires tolerance for long hours and variable shifts, including extensive standing, walking, bending, lifting, transferring anesthetized patients, and maneuvering heavy equipment. Manual dexterity, excellent eye-hand coordination, and sharp visual and auditory acuity are essential.
