Job Title Sourcing Specialist – Buying / Procurement Location Houston, TX Duration 12 Months Rate $35-$40 per hour Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sourcing Specialist to support procurement and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for managing purchase orders, supplier communications, and sourcing activities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong system navigation skills, a buyer-focused mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Key Responsibilities Create, manage, and track Purchase Orders (POs) within ERP systems Review and validate Purchase Order Requisitions (PORs) prior to PO creation Confirm supplier setup, availability, and compliance within procurement systems Monitor and review PO history, inventory status, and supply/demand data Support production/planning teams with accurate status updates on materials and orders Prepare reports and tracking information outside of ERP systems (e.g., Excel) Manage Blanket Purchase Orders (BPOs), including releases, expediting, and follow-ups Coordinate with suppliers to request quotes (RFQs), expedite materials, and resolve issues Support sourcing activities related to repair, maintenance, and third-party services Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes Communicate regularly with suppliers and internal stakeholders via email and collaboration tools Work Environment Office-based role Standard full-time hours (approx. 40 hours per week) High-volume, fast-paced procurement environment Requires daily use of ERP systems and multiple software screens Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field (or high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of relevant experience) Hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, or buying roles Strong ERP system experience (buyer-side usage required) #J-18808-Ljbffr NES Fircroft
