Our Club staff members are educators, coaches, mentors, community leaders, and ambassadors. They don't just open the doors of our Clubs - they open the door to new worlds and possibilities for kids and communities across Metro Denver.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver has multiple opportunities throughout our Aurora Club locations for a driven and energetic individual who loves working with kids and making a difference. If you have at least one year of experience working with youth -whether in schools, camps, sports, or after-school programs-this is your chance to grow your skills in a meaningful career.

As a Youth Development Specialist , you'll build supportive relationships with youth and lead fun, hands-on activities in areas like sports, arts, STEM, and academics . We're looking for someone who's creative, caring, and ready to lead programs that help young people learn, grow, and thrive.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent
• One year experience directly serving youth

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic classroom management and the ability to direct youth and provide them with clear steps and tools that support goals achievement.
• Experience with lesson plan creation and implementation
• Bilingual- Spanish preferred
• Possession of a teaching certification or background in education
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple changing priorities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to complete reports, properly document programs, and utilize organizational data
• Experience with Microsoft Office software
• Excellent customer service skills

Conditions of Employment

• Must be able to pass criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
• A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance policy.
• The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required.
• The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25 lbs.
• Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion.
• Strong English proficiency is required for this position to ensure effective communications with staff, Club members, and families, as well as to follow safety and procedural guidelines accurately.
