FTE: Varies based on assignment Retirement Eligibility: Eligibility based on semesterly assignment, for more information visit Position Overview The Mathematics department at UNT seeks qualified individuals for its Adjunct Instructor Pool and welcomes applicants at any time. This posting is for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027, and Summer 2027 semesters. The specific courses involved may vary from semester to semester and openings to teach these courses develop on a periodic basis, depending on department teaching needs. The anticipated need is for Adjunct Instructors whose duties may include, but are not limited to teaching generally lower‑division mathematics courses such as: algebra, business math, business calculus, calculus, survey of mathematics, elementary statistics, linear algebra, and differential equations. Prospective adjuncts must be available to teach in‑person on the UNT Denton campus. Adjuncts teach 1‑4 classes per semester and are expected to hold office hours per departmental policy. Minimum Qualifications For developmental mathematics courses candidates should have a bachelor's degree in mathematics. For credit‑bearing courses candidates should have a master's degree in mathematics, statistics, or related field including 18 graduate semester credit hours in mathematics (MATH) or statistics (STAT) prefixed courses. Preferred Qualifications PhD in mathematics or closely related field Experience with online learning platforms such as: Canvas, MyLabsMath, Webassign, ALEKS Experience supervising teaching assistants Experience teaching mathematics classes with over 100 students Available to teach early morning and late evening Required License/Registration/Certifications None specified.
