Location Austin, TX Job Summary Support Commissioners in the Office of Policy and Docket Management by providing legal analysis, research, and advice on telecommunications, electric, and water & wastewater utility regulation, infrastructure resilience, contested cases, and policy matters. Responsibilities Provide legal research and analysis to support Commission decision-making. Draft and prepare written materials for Commissioners. Advise on regulation, infrastructure, wildfire mitigation, and contested case proceedings. Coordinate with other sections (Docket Management, APS) to develop and implement policy. Qualifications Attorney I Graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or engineering. Graduated from an accredited law school with LLB or JD. Licensed with the State Bar of Texas and eligible to practice law in Texas. Attorney II Same as Attorney I. Minimum of two years of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney. Attorney III Same as Attorney I. Minimum of three years of full-time legal experience as a licensed attorney, preferably in utility regulation or administrative law. Preferred Qualifications Experience with electric, telecommunications, or water and wastewater utility regulation. Experience reviewing infrastructure applications, engineering analyses, mitigation plans, or compliance filings. Experience supporting Commission-level policy development or contested case proceedings. Salary Attorney I: $80,004 – $89,250 per month. Attorney II: $88,200 – $99,750 per month. Attorney III: $99,225 – $112,008 per month. Schedule Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with optional telecommuting as permitted by policy.
