About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) to join its Executive Team and lead a comprehensive, multi-year advancement strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for growing philanthropic revenue, with a focus on annual giving, major gifts, planned giving, grants, and corporate partnerships. This role requires a strategic leader who can translate the organization's mission and impact into compelling cases for support, and who is adept at fostering a culture of philanthropy. The CAO will work closely with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team to align advancement efforts with the company's values and priorities, and will serve as a visible ambassador to the community, donors, and partners. Applicants for the CAO position should have a minimum of 7 years' of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record in major gifts and campaigns. The role demands a confident, relational fundraiser with excellent communication skills, capable of managing a significant donor portfolio and leading a team to achieve measurable revenue growth. Experience with fundraising CRMs is essential, and proficiency in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT is strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the philanthropic landscape and a passion for the company's mission. The role is hands-on and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment, with some evening and weekend work, as well as occasional regional travel.
