Key Responsibilities

Participate in the month-end close process, including:

• Preparing and posting journal entries
• Performing account reconciliations
• Assisting with financial reporting and variance analysis

Support the corporate credit card expense reconciliation process, including:

• Reviewing and approving employee expense submissions
• Verifying receipts and ensuring proper expense coding
• Ensuring compliance with company expense policies

Cross-train and provide support across accounting functions, which may include:

• Learning all functions of the Accounts Payable process
• Processing employee expense reports and mileage reimbursements
• Entering expense invoices and supporting Accounts Payable activities
• Preparing budget-to-actual comparison reports
• Supporting audits and special projects

Support sales tax compliance activities, including:

• Requesting and maintaining customer sales tax exemption certificates
• Importing and validating exemption certificates in Avalara
• Maintaining accurate customer tax records
• Preparing and managing sales tax filings and related accounts
• Providing exemption certificates to vendors as needed

Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information

Participate in process improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field required

0-3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience

Experience with ERP systems such as Prophet 21 or sales tax platforms such as Avalara is a plus.

Reporting Structure

• Reports to: Controller
• Direct Reports: None

Additional Responsibilities

• Provide cross-functional support within Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
• Participate in process improvement initiatives
• Perform other duties as assigned

Work Environment

• This position is primarily in-office to support collaboration with the accounting team and cross-functional departments.
• Work is primarily sedentary and involves extended periods of computer use
• May occasionally require standing, walking, bending, and light lifting
• Office conditions are typical, with adequate lighting, temperature control, and minimal noise
