Procurement Manager (People Leadership)

Raleigh-Durham, NC | Hybrid Opportunities Available Contract to hire

Pay: $50/hr - $75/Hr

LHH Recruitment Solutions is proactively building a network of Procurement Managers for current and upcoming opportunities with leading manufacturers, life sciences organizations, distribution companies, and technology-driven businesses throughout North Carolina.

We are seeking experienced procurement leaders who can balance strategic sourcing initiatives with day-to-day team leadership while delivering measurable cost savings, supplier innovation, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop procurement, sourcing, and purchasing teams
• Establish sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives
• Negotiate supplier agreements, pricing, terms, and service levels
• Manage supplier relationships and drive supplier performance improvements
• Partner with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance leaders
• Identify cost reduction, productivity, and risk mitigation opportunities
• Oversee procurement KPIs, spend analytics, and reporting
• Develop and execute category management strategies
• Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and regulatory requirements
• Support inventory optimization and supply continuity initiatives
• Lead cross-functional sourcing projects and supplier transitions
• Participate in budget planning and long-term supply chain strategy

Preferred Background

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related field
• 5+ years of procurement and sourcing experience
• Prior experience managing direct reports
• Experience within Manufacturing, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical, Consumer Products, Industrial, Distribution, or Technology environments
• Strong supplier negotiation and contract management skills
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
• Strong analytical and stakeholder management capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• CPSM, CPM, CSCP, or APICS certification
• Category management experience
• Strategic sourcing leadership experience
• Multi-site procurement responsibility
• Global sourcing experience

Compensation

Competitive base salary plus bonus opportunities. Compensation will vary based on experience, industry background, leadership scope, and location.
