The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, orderly, and attractive manner in accordance with established procedures. This role also directs, schedules, and supports housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure the highest level of cleanliness is maintained at all times.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Support:
Direct and assist housekeepers and laundry aides
Maintain staff schedules and daily assignments
Provide guidance and support to team members
Cleaning & Maintenance:
Clean resident rooms, common areas, hallways, and offices
Sweep, vacuum, dust, disinfect, and deodorize surfaces
Clean walls, ceilings, fixtures, furniture, and HVAC units
Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, showers, and sinks
Facility Readiness:
Prepare model rooms and resident rooms for move-in
Ensure all areas are clean, safe, and welcoming
Laundry & Waste Management:
Support laundry operations as needed
Empty trash and maintain clean disposal areas
Safety & Compliance:
Report maintenance concerns and safety hazards
Submit work orders as needed
Follow infection control and sanitation procedures
Inventory & Organization:
Maintain housekeeping supply rooms and closets
Assist with supply management and cost control
Customer Service:
Provide excellent service to residents, families, and visitors
Communicate professionally with staff and leadership
Promote a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment
At least 1 year of housekeeping or related experience (preferred)
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
Strong organizational and leadership skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Compassion for and desire to work with seniors
Professional, dependable, and respectful demeanor
Must pass background check and meet health requirements
Scheduled hours with possible overtime
Frequent interaction with residents, staff, and visitors
Exposure to cleaning chemicals, infectious materials, and varying conditions
May be required to respond during emergency situations
Ability to perform medium physical work (lifting, pushing, pulling up to 35 lbs)
Frequent standing, walking, and movement throughout the day
Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions
